I now try to always eat organic whenever possible, and am vegetarian 100% of the time, vegan 95% of the time. Sometimes it’s inconvenient to get to the grocery store. Sometimes I have been infuriated to arrive home with “organic” vegetables (especially greens or lettuces) that I realize I can smell chemicals on because the store employees handled and contaminated them, or I have come to realize that if someone is heavily fragranced nearby greens that are being misted, that fragrance can literally be misted onto the produce!
So now I grow my own herbs and greens from seed in my living room. I control everything that happens to this food before it winds up on my plate. I always have the ability to throw a very fresh salad together, and I never have greens or herbs composting in my refrigerator. - Lisa

Kitchen law: Use quality knives, and take care of them by cutting on an end grain cutting board and it will be easy to keep them sharp. Also, because this cutting board has feet, it will not get moldy on the bottom, nor will it slide around when you are working on it. I adore this cutting board. - Lisa

We got some of these are were surprised that we liked them better than bath mats or towels which tend to hold moisture. When you step onto it from the shower it really does instantly wick the water off your feet. Weird, but in a good way. - Lisa

Yes this is a big ticket item, but definitely worth mentioning. We had this in our last house, and it was worth every penny. If you need to install an electric cooktop, this one is brilliant. The house we are in now has a gas stove, and I really miss this induction cooktop. - Lisa
In our last house we installed both Sub-zero and Thermador refrigerator/freezers. If you are sensitive to off-gassing from new appliances you should know that the Thermador refrigerator stopped off-gassing within just a couple of days of installation. The Sub-zero took months. Also the Thermador freezer made ice twice as fast. I would absolutely choose Thermador again. - Lisa
This oven is amazing. When I was deep in my chronic illness and could not travel or dine out easily, I was cooking most everything from scratch at home. Having a French-door style on the top oven made it so much easier to lift heavy items in and out of the oven. If you are physically struggling, it makes a big difference. When I was at my lowest point in my health journey, everything was an irritant. I found this website and became a big fan of their products, especially their bedding and their socks. The sheets don't pill, and they feel amazing. It's a bonus that these products are sustainable, but really the quality is what got me as a lifelong fan.
Since I cook at home most of the time I often make extra and freeze it. These cubes make that insanely easy! Before I had them I would try to use muffin tins, or plastic tubs, and it was hard or impossible to remove the item without involving heat, not optimal. These are so much better because after your item is frozen solid, you can easily push it out of the cube from the flexible bottom. It seems like such a simple thing to be loving it so much, but I do. - Lisa
